PENTECOSTAL WORSHIP
The ONE Church is a Spirit-filled church embracing the truths of the Pentecostal movement, including the basic tenets of the baptism with the Holy Ghost, Divine Healing, Deliverence from demonic forces, and the Gifts of The Holy Spirit. Our worship is joyful and expressive, as the Word of God calls for such worship. All worship ought always to be inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. We believe in worshipping both in spirit and in truth. The gifts of the Spirit are in full operation within this fellowship. The fundamental rule for all our services is contained within the Biblical admonishment of the Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth...
"Let all things be done decently and in order." - I Corinthians 14:40
Pentecostal worship may include:
Preaching - Scripture Reading - Prayer - Singing - Testimonies - Kneeling
Standing - Raising Hands - Shouting
Affirmation (Saying "Amen" "Praise the Lord" or "Hallelujah" (etc)
Weeping - Laughing - Marching - Joining Hands
Leaping - Dancing - Speaking with other tongues (other languages)
Laying on of hands - Anointing with oil - Prophecy
Tongues & Interpretation - Joyfull Expressions
Because we believe that the Spirit of the Lord directs every service, many of these things may or may not occur regularly. Any attempt by worshippers to make the more deonsstrative things take place is discouraged, as doing so without an unction and inspiration from the Spirit of God is fleshly and carnal. All true worship is inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and is an expression of one's spirit and not merely their flesh. Expressions born of our fleshly attempts at worship are referred to by the Word of God as praise. Praise is fine, but what God really seeks is true, spirit born WORSHIP.
Pentecostal worship is spontaneous and exuberant, during which believers clap, shout, raise their hands and sometimes dance, leap, run, or jump in spontaneous worship to God. We believe that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit, spoken of in Paul's epistle (letter) to the first century church at Corinth, are also present in the modern-day church. These gifts often, though not always, are manifested during times of worship. We recognize nine spiritual gifts, which are listed in 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10: "To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues."
